Fool That I Am: Adele Version

Adele singing Fool That I Am at Somerville Theater in Massachusetts.

The Adele version to me was missing the bluesy sound. There is one part in particular where she seemed to struggle to get the same sound as Etta James.

Her version might have been alright if I hadn’t been used to hearing the Etta James version.

This is best rockin’ blues song Etta James ever recorded in my book when she sang Next Door to the Blues.

Etta James was born Jamesetta Hawkins on January 25, 1938 and is now 73 years old. She will go down as one of the best female blues singers in our lifetime.
